3rd annual Jelly Bean race

Celebrate Spring by running with me in the
3rd annual Jelly Bean virtual race!
~FREE TO ENTER~

What's a virtual race?  A virtual race is running a specified distance (timed) without being present in the actual race location.

DATE:  March 20-31, 2013
The race begins on the First Day of Spring and ends on Easter Sunday.

LOCATION:  Pick your favorite local route or just hop on a treadmill.

EVENTS:  Choose the event that works best for your current fitness level. You may participate in more than one event. Earn 1 point for each event completed (4 max).
- Run 5K (3.1 miles)
- Run 10K  (6.2 miles)
- Run Half-Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Bike 21K (13 miles)

RESULTS:  Report your race time(s) HERE no later than Tuesday, April 2 at 12:00 noon CST.   This is a fun race; no Garmin/treadmill photo required to verify your time.

PRIZES:  When the Jelly Bean results window closes, prizes are randomly drawn from finishers who reported results. Winners will be announced by 4/5/13.  Special thank you the sponsors below for making events like this possible. Please give their website a visit and patronize when possible... HOW IT ALL WORKS:
  • Complete the race registration form now to receive continued communication with the Jelly Bean E-Newsletter. You can only sign up ONCE per email address, but don't worry, you will be able to print more than one race bib and report results separately (for your kids, spouse, etc...)
  • Order the optional race medal(s) and organize a group to run the Jelly Bean together. This makes a great family event to get the kids active!
  • On race week, PRINT A RACE BIB for each person participating.  If you ordered one of the Team options, your race bibs will arrive inside your package.
  • Run and/or bike the Jelly Bean... Have fun! Take pictures and please share them on my Facebook wall.
  • REPORT RACE RESULTS for each participant. You will earn one entry into the prize drawing for each event that you finish. Each event may only be completed once. For example, a 5K only counts as one entry, regardless of how many times you run it. Maximum of 4 entries per person.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Love your designs but haven't loved purple shirt options for the male folk ;( Won't you consider doing gender neutral Jelly Bean race shirts with logo you are advertising with jelly bean and color? Purple is your thing but not everyone else's. Just saying....

    1. The sign up now just gets you the newsletter. Once the race bibs come out, just print 2 and then afterward, you'll be able to report your times separately.

  37. In case you don't know I work in Afghanistan. So running in physical races is difficult. I decided to do some virtual races. This one is perfect. What makes it even better is that I already almost have a team of 10 people who want to do it also. I'm sure by the end of the day there will be more. We will be signing up within the next couple of days so get ready to send us a big package. :)

  38. I'm in Alabama. What is the deadline to register WTH a group in order to still get medals? We may have a fairly large group.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm wondering the deadline too. :)

      Delete
    2. There is no deadline... but if you want a medal, you should order asap. First 500 and then they're gone.

    3. Jess,
I have 13 people total attending the team event. What do I need to do in order to get 3 more full team packets? I didn't want to add another 5 medals. I only need 3. I sent a PayPal for 10 medals but I need 3 more. Please email me at mkatbyrd@gmail.com

    1. I never stated a time of midnight. The order window for medals was open for more than a month. I'm sorry that you waited until the last day... but I had to place the order by close of business on Friday. I ordered an extra 100... but through the evening, it seems many waited until the last minute to order and those were sold by time I got back from dinner. At this point, I need to fulfill the orders that were made first and then if there are any extras, I will post at that time. Probably by March 9, I will know if there are extras. Thank you.

  49. What does the $10 fee go towards other than the medals and cost for the materials for an event? Does this benefit a charity? Just curious.

  53. I LOVE your jelly bean logo :)

I design logos as a part of my job - http://1-to-1.org.uk/logo-design.html

I just started running too, only a few weeks ago. I find it so difficult too. But, you have to make the effort don't you :)
